I I've had a crappy summer. I've spent most of it stuck in bed because of leg sores. And I just found out yesterday that 2 of the sores on my left leg are ulcers and not the blisters I get from my leg swelling up. My doctor told me that these things can actually eat their way down to the bone if not taken care off. So needless to say I'm scared.

Well once again it's been forever since I've blogged. With all the swaps I join and host plus my group I keep forgetting about my blog. : ) It's a beautiful St Patricks Day today. The sun is out. It's warm and no snow anywhere. And the SUN IS OUT!!!! I am so sick of winter. It seems like we have had nothing but snow and cold out there for the last year rather then only since last October. I need warmth and sun. Lots and lots of sun. : )

It maybe ST. Patricks Day but I'm have no plans other then working on a new doll. I'm having troubles with it already. The pattern the group leader picked for the swap really just is not speaking to me. I don't know what to do there. I need to get it done and mailed off in the next few days and I have the body done I just don't much like the dress we have to make for it. Oh well I'll get it together some how.

Windchimes Swap 2011 -- Sign ups are open till Jan 30 - - Due March 15
The idea for this swap is to use the chimes from off a dollar store wind chime ( they do sell the parts at craft stores also ) and make your own top and dangles for a new wind chime. This is going to be a one on one swap. So you will make only one unless you sign up more then once. . You can use whatever you like to make this as long as the finished product is a working wind chime. So this makes for a great swap for those of us who like mixed media type things. I finally got her done. I've had her since July 2010. She's way over due to be sent to my swap partner Trudi Skate. I hate that she took me so long but she kind of intimidated me. I was afraid to work on her in case I messed her up. I'm still new at doll making. This has to be the hardest doll I've done. I'm so happy with the way she looks. I wish I could keep her lol. Trudi has so so much more experience with faces and doll making that I'm terrified that she wont be as happy with her as I am. But she goes home this weekend. I'm excited to see what Trudi has done for me. I know she has probably been done for ages and has only been humoring me with saying she wasn't done either. I feel bad I've taken so long but I hope the extra stuff I send with Talia will make up for that. God I hope she likes her. I think she is my best doll I've made yet. I've only been making them for about 4 years now. But most of what I make are just beaded dolls not real dolls like this.

Voodoo doll I stated for my RR swap. Now I have to send it on to the next person to finish him off. This is my first and hopefully last voodoo doll. I have to confess they scare me. As do clowns.

This is a tree goddess I made for the goddess doll group. I used real tree branch. I like her so far but I feel she might be missing something but I can't think what to add to her.

This is my doll. She began like this and so fat I've added a birds nest to her and some orange fall like leaves to the large branch. I plan on adding a much smaller branch to the other leg and put small green leaves on it and the medium sized branch I plan on adding yellow and green leaves to it. The face I'm still working on what I plan to do but so far she looks really cool with what I've added onto her. I'll post more pictures as I go.

These are for a clay swap I joined. My first trinket boxes I've ever made. I think they came out really well. I was worried at first. I'm new at working with clay. But I'm happy with them.

This is my Ocean Goddess. I painted some of the fish on her. I just love this doll form. It is very versatile. Any way she went to one of my swappers from my group. Right now I'm making dotee dolls which are new to me. I like that you can make them whatever shape comes to mind.

The item must be at least 75 - 80% clay but you can add fabric and other things to your piece as well. 3 - 4 inches in size should be good but you can go larger. I'd like this to be a group swap with each swapper making 3 pieces and I'd pair you up in groups. I've started on a witch doll for Halloween. I don't have the pictures for her yet but she's coming along ok. It's the first time I've ever made a witch. Or a scary doll. I't not as easy as you may think to go scary. At least not for me. I keep working and re-working the face asking myself is this scary or just funny looking?Oh well I'll work it out I hope lol.

Just being heard

We all have a voice and should use it in both words and our art. You should never worry that someone wont like what you say or do because simple fact is you will always find someone that does not like something AND you will always find those of us that do. So you have to be selfish and do what makes you happy and let everything else fall into place as it will. Arts and crafts are windows into us and I believe that sometimes people do not like what they see because it makes them feel vulnerable. Artist allow our souls to shine, to be free and to see beauty in even the most ugly of things. Look at the Mona Lisa painting it's worth big $$$ and yet its ugly! Sorry Mona! : ) But hey as a fellow artist you can see the beauty in the brush strokes and how the artist lets you see inside him through his work. So what I'm trying to say is you have to just let go and put yourself out there. Be heard.

RR swap Due Jan 15th......sign ups open till Sept 1st I was thinking that our 3rd swap will be a round robin swap. I'd like to pair up at least 3 - 5 people to a group. And we would be making an art piece out of found objects and more. We could start off with one of the following ideas.....a doll.....a glass or plastic glass....or something else....a canvas for painting maybe. You would add something to that object and mail it to the next person. Each person that gets it must 1 add something found to it. And 2 something with texture. And a 3rd thing with color. Then pass it on to the next person to do the same. Once the last person finished they would send it back to you. Also each swapper would have to fill out a small journal telling what you added to the piece.

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (MicroSafe)

Add dry ingredients to mug and mix well.Add the egg and mix thoroughly.Pour in the milk and oil and mix well..Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

Yesterday was a bad day for my family. We had to take my brothers dog back to the pound. We had him for 4 or 5 months and he was just to much. He just wasn't stable. He would snap and growl at us all the time. Tuesday ended it for me. I was reaching down petting my cat Asher and the dog ran over grabbed my hand in his mouth, growled and yanked it away from the cat. He then let it go and snapped at the cat growling and chased him off. Then came back over to me and laid his head on my lap wanting me to pet him. That made the second time he has grabbed my hand in his mouth and growled. The first was when I tried to take the remote from him after he stole it off the table. It was hard enough dealing with all the destruction he would do but this was to much. The bad times was wat over loading the good times. My mom was getting scared of him. I tried to calm him down and love him but he just was to much. And I couldn't take the chance of him hurting my cat who has been a member of my family for 5 years. He's my baby. So I told my brother I couldn't watch him any more. And he decided that it would be best to get rid of him. I feel bad and I hope and pray he goes to a family that can help him better and love him. But right now I feel like such a shit.

This is my beautiful kitty Asher. I named him from a vampire character from Laurel K. Hamilton's - Anita Blake books. He is the only one who seems to be able to keep my brothers devil dog Mac in line. The dog is afraid of him. It's funny to see Asher chase the dog and box his ears when he gets tired of the dogs barking or whatever. He backs him into corners and just smacks away at him. He can't hurt him because he has both his front and back claws removed so that he doesn't accidentally scratch me. I'm prone to leg infections and am diabetic.

My brothers dog is driving me crazy!!!! I baby sit him 5 days a week. He try's to eat everything. If it fits in his mouth it goes there. You tell him to drop it and he tries to swallow it whole instead. This morning I wake up to find the book I just got in the mail yesterday was his chew toy of choice today. I told him I was going to kill him and he rolls over on his back and grumbles at me. I like to think he was playing dead and letting me know he understood but I fear it was more like "yea whatever lady". I swear to god around this dog you can't even afford yourself the luxury of blinking. One could end up with an eye tick making yourself blink with one eye at a time just so you always have one eye on him. So far this week between my house and his he has chewed up 4 markers, 2 pens, 5 books from off a shelf, a shoe, 2 cat toys, 3 of his toys, a loaf of bread that I didn't see him steal of the table when I was putting groceries away, a box of tissues, the doll I was working on, and bobbin, some cd's and the cases, stuff from out of the trash, a pillow, almost ate a dead bird and more. I accidentally dropped a new spool of thread on the floor and he snatched that up and tried to eat it. It took some doing but I got it away from him. Stupid me I panicked and yelled at him to drop it so he tried to swallow it. I had to fold onto his body with my legs and pry his mouth open with my hands and pull it out of his throat so he didn't choke on it. He's growling at me. I'm yelling at him that if he chokes it permanent cause I don't know the Hiymalick procedure and if he thinks mouth to mouth he crazy because that it isn't happening. I've seen what he puts in there.

Time and how I'm using it

I've gotten myself in a fix right now with agreeing to do more things then I have the time for and on top of that I have a leg infection. I'm diabetic and get them every few years. They are a real B - - - - to get rid of. I have to stay in bed mostly to keep the swelling down in my legs so that the sores can dry up. It's been weeks now and I'm going out of my mind. I took pictures of my leg. I should post them. Thankfully I'm still able to do some crafting in bed. I've just mailed off some ATC cards today for the Art4Mail group. I have some postcards to make but I'm having some problems getting inspired. It doesn't help much that the street behind my house they are building a bunch of new housing and in front of my house the city is tearing up the road to lay down new pipes so it's noise noise noise from 5am to 6pm. I'm also making some bookmarkers, inchies and quilties for the same group. And for another group I have a RR swap I'm in. I had to make a doll body and mail it to someone else to do the face and hair then it goes to another to finish up. I din't get a picture taken of the body before I mailed it but the swapper I sent her to emailed me a sneak peak picture of her so far she looks great. I made some wings for another swap as you can see in the pictures I have posted around this listing.

This is AMAYA. She is a fairy princess. I made her for a swap. I'm not happy about her face. I'm still learning to sew those. Practice makes perfect. : ) I'm getting a camera for my birthday so I plan on taking more pictures of things I make. Here are some dolls I've made the one with the flowers I made for a swap. Emily and buglet I just made on a whim. And the Goddess of Beauty was just for fun also. I'm making more dolls now. I have a swap on Yahoo that I'm making a doll for Samhain that will be a witch of some sort. I haven't really started her yet. And for another swap I'm making wrist dolls. I'm starting them off with friendship bracelets as the base I'm think then building from there. I've found a new passion. It's making dolls. I was watching this craft show about a month ago and saw this doll this lady had made. It looked easy so i tried it. Well of course it wasn't as easy as it looked but it worked it's self out and I ended up with a pretty mermaid doll. Once that was done I just had to make another so now I'm working on a Vegas show girl. I hope to post pictures of both soon. What are some of your passions?

You just came out and everything is new. What do you think runs through our little heads? Oh my God what did I sign up for???? Haha... Really though since we hadn't learned anything yet in terms of communication do we even have thoughts then? Or is it possible that we actually come out knowing words but just need to be taught how to say them? Strange question I know. Well I'm a strange person just full to bursting with strange questions. Like when do you suppose we first decide who we are? I don't know about you but me I've had a few to many moments when I ask myself -" Just when was it that I chose this for my life?" " Was this what I had in mind when I made the choices I had before me?" And the biggest question of all - " Do we really always have a choice on everything or do we end up where we end up and only the paths to get there are our making?" Makes you wonder doesn't? What if you could go back in time to any given place and change just one thing in your life? Would you? Who do you think you would be today if you did?
